Conformer

It is applied by the ophthalmologist immediately after completion of surgery (evisceration or enucleation).

After the ocular implant is placed, the conformer is inserted over the conjunctiva and underneath the eyelids. The insertion of the conformer results in proper healing of the surgical trauma and, most importantly, avoids adhesions inside the socket. It is necessary to apply, because it serves to create a symmetrical space ready to receive the ocular prosthesis after the healing of the surgical trauma.
